Three Magical Social Media Moments from #CDN100

Some of the biggest names in the Canadian channel were honoured last night at the Top 100 IT Solution Providers Gala. The night’s top social media moments revolved around the obvious channel magic in a room filled with the winners.

Throughout the night, the most-discussed moment among users was Greg Myers receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, after almost 35 years in the channel.

Winners also flocked to social media to show off their rankings and congratulate each other. Overall there were hundreds of posts and hundreds of social media actions on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. To see all posts, search the event hashtag #CDN100. Here are three of the top magical social media moments of the evening.

  1. The CDW team knows how to bring the magic touch; other than rising to the top of the list for the fifth year in a row, they also stood out on social media posting the highest engaged post of the evening.

2. VMWare’s Channel Chief, Tara Fine’s post congratulating Lifetime Achievement recipient Greg Myers, also had Twitter talking. The moment itself was one to remember as Greg Myers accepted his award to a standing ovation from the audience.

3. It’s fitting that the third magical moment of the evening features the hosts Brian Jackson, Editorial Director of IT World Canada and Mandy Kovacs, Senior Writer of Computer Dealer News. Brian and Mandy brought the magical touch to the evening, captivating the audience with laughs and trivia.
