Top 100 solution provider deals with Silicon Valley software vendor

Silicon Valley-based software vendor Sureline Systems and CDN Top 100 Solution Provider Zycom Technology of Kingston, Ont. have formed a strategic partnership for digital transformation.

This strategic partnership enables Zycom to now offer Sureline SUREedge Migrator software licenses as a special feature of its Cloud Ready migration services. Terry Buchanan, the vice president of technology and GM of Zycom, told CDN this will be an exclusive partnership and the first of its kind in Canada.

In addition, Zycom will get the SUREedge Disaster Recovery software component too and they plan to use in its Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service solutions.

Sureline has made a name for itself in developing enterprise-class physical and virtual server, cloud solutions. They also have dabbled in container migration and disaster recovery, which is also a strength of Zycom.

Buchanan described this strategic partnership with Sureline as becoming “business friends”. Zycom focuses on customer journeys in digital transformation via Cloud Ready Platforms. Sureline offers a superior automated solution with SUREedge Migrator for migrating physical, virtual and cloud workloads between one another and understands the value of Nutanix AHV’s adoption in the marketplace by supporting migrations directly to and from Nutanix AHV.

“Combining Zycom’s service delivery expertise in hyper-converged technologies and Sureline’s migration and DR software enables us to reduce the risk and increase the ease by which our customers adopt hybrid cloud solutions across multiple private and public cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google whilst reducing the cost and complexity to do so. “Cloud” is supposed to be easy so it’s a win-win for everyone when Sureline enables easy inter-platform support,” Buchanan added.

George Symons, COO of Sureline, believes that by including SUREedge solutions as part of Zycom’s Nutanix initiatives will enable the company to expand migration and disaster recovery offerings. This partnership give Sureline access to one of the top Nutanix channel partners in Zycom. They plan to tap the company’s expertise and services paired with Sureline’s technology targeting customers interested in migrate servers to Nutanix AHV quickly.

This is how the partnership is exepcted to work. Sureline is to provide its SUREedge Migrator solution that captures application consistent images from any physical or virtual server. These point-in-time images are then replicated using deduplication, compression and encryption, to a local or remote site or Cloud.

From there, the SUREedge Migrator includes a migration planner to develop an end-to-end plan to automate the overall migration process. The plan identifies which machines are to be migrated and when, and defines any interrelationships between servers that create complex applications. SUREedge leverages its automated transformation functionality to migrate from any source to any target, local or remote site or Cloud, where dissimilar hardware or operating environments can be used at the source and target. SUREedge Disaster Recovery (DR) delivers enterprise-class DR with WAN-optimized active-active replication, global deduplications, compression, and encryption.

The strategy with this combined plan is for SUREedge DR to give IT managers a way to protect all applications, operating systems, data, and more by replicating from any physical or virtual server to any target, Cloud or remote site. A central management console and agentless architecture is also part of this so that customers can run in an Opex fashion and potentially reduce costs.

SUREedge also uses a snapshot when capturing a recovery point to ensure that when a failover occurs, a full consistent image is recovered. DR plans can be tested with no impact on the production environment to ensure confidence and speed of execution if a disaster should occur.
