Top 100 Solution Provider makes major acquisition

The No. 53 solution provider on the CDN Top 100 list QRX Technology Group announced they have made a strategic acquisition of Kerr Norton of North Toronto.

The Kerr Norton deal will help strengthen QRX’s position in the IT equipment, supplies and service market by providing more environmental solutions to the company’s mix of offerings.

There is also a big service component to the acquisition. QRX noted that the combined resources of both companies will ensure the best customer experience. QRX is putting a bigger focus on achieving exponential growth through its firm commitment to building strong, business partnerships. Through this acquisition the group remains committed to the highest level of service possible.

Founded in 1989 QRX, with revenues between $25 to $30 million is one of the biggest managed print services companies in Canada. The privately-owned QRX provides customized solutions to corporate clients, government and institutions across Canada.

The company after its 25 anniversary developed a mission statement to understand each customer’s unique requirements, while providing consultative services and value propositions that generate cost savings and improved efficiency.

QRX has also cultivated many long-term partnerships with all major OEM manufacturers and offers a selection of ink/toner, media, and paper products. The company also provides printing and imaging equipment sales, service, and all-inclusive managed print service solutions.

Kerr Norton has a much longer business history. The company started out 75 years ago by making typewriter ribbons. But they too evolved to became a player in the computer supplies industry through its environmental awareness and its 20-plus years’ experience in recycling and re-manufacturing cartridges.

Kerr Norton’s green program reduces waste and reuses raw materials. The program has become an integral part of the company’s go-to-market strategy.

Just this summer, QRX vice president Grace Martins was honoured at the 2016 CDN Women of the IT Channel show.
