Ultra-thin virtual reality ready laptop released

Eurocom is adding to the ultra-thin gaming laptop market with the newly announced Sky M5 R2, its newest VR ready gaming rig.

The Sky M5 R2 tagline is how thin Eurocom has managed to get this new machine, while still packing quite a punch. At just one inch thin, and weighing 2.6 kg, the amount of power in this laptop may shock you. It is powered by an Intel Core i7 6700HQ processor, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, 64 GB of RAM, 6 TB of RAIDable storage, and 4G LTE support for internet on the go.

Due to the GTX 1060 graphics card, the Sky M5 R2 can support released, and upcoming virtual reality headsets, such as the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Microsoft HoloLens. The laptop has ditched traditional hard drive support, and instead allows for up to two M.2 solid state storage drives (SSD) for up to 6 TB of SSD storage. The Sky M5 R2 also has a customizable backlit, multi-coloured keyboard.

The Sky M5 R2 has a 15.6 inch 4K HD 1920×1080 pixel, 60HZ, LED backlit screen. With up to 64 GB of RAM in this laptop, users have the ability to video edit as well. For those worried about overheating, the rig comes complete with Eurocom’s industrial-grade, singular CPU and GPU, copper thermal solution.

Additionally, the laptop has an abundance of connectivity ports including: two USB 3.1-C ports, two mini DP 1.3 ports, and a HDMI 2 port. Users can use the HDMI and DP ports to connect up to three 4K capable displays.

The Sky M5 R2 is available now on Eurocom.com, starting at $1679.
