Video: Don’t write Nortel’s obituary just yet

While the announcement Wednesday that one-time Canadian technology darling Nortel Networks (TSX: NT) is filing for protection from its creditors has many writing off the company, Nortel isn’t the first networking equipment vendor to go this route and others that have emerged stronger than before.

In this video report, IT World Canada editor Shane Schick reports that if the network equipment maker gets protection from creditors, there’s still a chance it can win over enterprise firms with its unified communications products. He also takes a look back at CEO Mike Zafirovski’s ambitious plans for the company’s UC alliance with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).
