ViewSonic releases a really big PC monitor

ViewSonic has released a new IPS professional grade monitor, called the VP2770-LED.

What makes this PC monitor a bit different is that its a 27 inch desktop display targeted at professionals in digital photography, architecture, computer engineering and design. According to Walnut Grove, Calif.-based vendor it will offer these digital professionals nearly 80 per cent more pixels than a standard 1080p display.

It also offers a wide view IPS LED panel, full ergonomics, and full connectivity options.

The monitor features a WQHD (Wide Quad High Definition) 2560 x 1440 resolution with 3.7 million pixels (nearly 80 per cent more pixels than a standard 1080p display), for stunning high definition details.

It also has 1.07 billion colours, a high 20M:1 contrast ratio, super wide 178 / 178 viewing angles, and compatibility with most third party colour calibrators on the market.

Erik Willey, LCD monitor and PC product marketing director at ViewSonic, said for professions such as digital photography, architecture, computer engineering and design where true colour and total screen viewing is essential, a professional grade display can make all the difference. The VP2770-LED IPS monitor is the most comprehensive choice for the professional user, offering stunning colour accuracy, wide viewing angles, full ergonomics, and multiple inputs for a full range of connectivity.

The connectivity options are DisplayPort, HDMI, Dual-Link DVI and VGA, along with four USB ports to support peripherals. In addition, VP2770-LED provides users height adjust, swivel, tilt and pivot, plus VESA mount options.

The VP2770-LED includes a three-year limited warranty. It is priced at $799.
