Veritas sees departure of Sean Forkan

Sean Forkan has left Veritas.

Sources tell CDN that the former vice president of sales for Central United States and Canada has left his role at the information management software vendor, one he held since April 2015.

The executive is well known in the Canadian channel community and has had senior positions at Cisco, Oracle and Veritas’ former parent company Symantec.

In his most recent role, he oversaw Veritas’ split from security vendor Symantec which took place Feb. 1. He was among several executives to be distributed between the two companies.

After an initial internal restructuring, Symantec revealed it had sold Veritas to private equity firm The Carlyle Group for $8 billion.

Nevertheless, under Forkan’s leadership, Veritas refocused its channel approach with transition plans and indirect sales targets of 78 per cent growth. With that, partners were not left wondering.

Forkan ranked No 9 on CDN’s Top 25 Newsmakers list for 2015.
