3D Printing on Windows 8.1

SAN FRANCISCO – Recently at the famed Paris Fashion Week, 12 pairs of 3D printed designer shoes graced the catwalk of Iris van Herpen’s Couture show ‘Wilderness Embodied.’

3D printing has come a long way and has led to a lot of debate over its use in manufacturing guns for example. Just last month Doctors used a 3D printer to create a bioresorbable splint for a child that help stop life-threatening tracheobronchomalacia.

The one thing that has prevented 3D printing from becoming as mainstream as regular printing is that it’s hard to do and expensive.

In this video feature, Autodesk Inc.’s Rob Roberts, the product manager for 3D Print and CNC, gave CDN a demonstration that dispels that notion. Roberts’ claims that 3D printing is as easy as 2D printing. Watch this video and see for yourself.
