Acronis tackles ransomware with upgraded solution

Ransomware – the security breach of nightmares – continues to grow at alarming rates, and Acronis believes its newest solution could ease those fears.

Acronis True Image 2017 New Generation, the firm’s latest upgrade to its True Image backup solution, uses active protection technology to combat ransomware attacks in real-time and automatically recover data from backups. It can be used to protect data on Windows and Mac computers, iOS and Android mobile devices, and on Facebook social networking accounts.

The new solution packs together three Acronis capabilities:

Additionally, the True Image 2017 New Generation solution added unmounted NAS support for source and backup destinations and wireless backup of mobile devices to Mac computers for Mac users. This includes support for Mac OS X Sierra.

Other upgrades include AES-256 data encryption, file preview and recovery, and browsing of all cloud backups from a mobile device, and new Facebook support. Facebook account data from a new or existing account can be encrypted and stored in the Acronis cloud.

The True Image 2017 New Generation starts at $99.99 USD a year per computer and 1 TB of Acronis cloud storage. However, discounts do exist to celebrate the launch of the new product, and special upgrade pricing is available for existing True Image customers. For more, click here.
