Citrix has lifted the lid off of its new enterprise platform, dubbed the Citrix Workspace Cloud.
The offering, unveiled at Synergy, is aimed at providing IT with a faster and easier way to manage and securely deliver apps and data from their choice of cloud or hybrid infrastructure.
“After enabling thousands of channel partners and customers to test-drive the product … Citrix is making Workspace Cloud generally available with service packages available for production deployments,” the company said in a statement.
The platform is available in several configurations, including as virtual desktops, virtual apps and desktops, integrated apps and data suite, as well as lifecycle management.
Citrix breaks it down in more detail:
- Virtual Desktops: for about $20 per user, IT can deliver virtual desktop to any device. This package offers Windows or Linux hosted shared and VDI desktops. Included are file, sync and share services and predefined blueprints for fast deployment.
- Virtual Apps and Desktops: for about $35 per user, IT can deliver Windows and Linux applications, browsers and desktops to any device with built-in security. This package also includes features for app and desktop blueprint designing, editing and deployment. Other features include deployment monitoring and management as well as file, sync and share services.
- Integrated Apps and Data Suite: for about $40 per user, this package includes all of the capabilities of the Virtual Apps and Desktops Services package, plus mobile device and app management, and productivity apps.
- Lifecycle Management: These operational packages include a complement of features to design, edit and deploy app and desktop blueprints, and monitor and manage deployments. The entry-level package is available for free to Citrix customers that are current with Software Maintenance. Other Lifecycle Management packages begin at the monthly equivalent of $2.50 per user.
