HPE simplifies on-premise deployment of Microsoft Azure Stack with new pay-as-you-go solution

IT departments today are tasked with trying to use new technology to drive innovation without breaking the bank, and it’s a tricky balancing act that Hewlett Packard Enterprise is trying to simplify with its latest offering.

“IT departments are under huge pressure from lines of business,” said McLeod Glass, vice-president and general manager of software-defined and hyperconverged solutions for HPE, in a press release.

The next-gen HPE ProLiant for Microsoft Azure Stack solution will minimize some of those pressures, said Glass. The new solution will combine integrated management with HPE OneView and pay-as-you-consume pricing provided by HPE GreenLake Flex Capacity. The goal is to give customers the benefits of a Microsoft Azure public cloud in an on-premises deployment, added Glass.

The new solution also comes with support for up to 120 TB of raw capacity per node. In a statement, Tad Brockway, general manager of Azure Storage at Microsoft, said Azure Stack is going to help customers who are moving to the hybrid cloud.

Microsoft Azure Stack is a key offering to support execution of that focus,” said Brockway, “We’re building on our strong partnership with HPE to bring Azure Stack to market and are excited with the multiple advancements included in the new Gen10 version of HPE ProLiant for Microsoft Azure Stack.”
