Ottawa-based Level Platforms Inc. expanded its Managed Workplace remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform solutions to introduced new mobile device management capabilities that help managed service providers with email configuration and security for new smartphones and tablets from Apple.
The company announced it is deploying MDM capabilities as part of Managed Workplace release 2 feature pack 1. MSP partners of Level Platforms will be able to help clients with Apple products to lower operating costs and address security concerns, the company said.
Gordon Rielly, CTO, Level Platforms, said as device manufacturers expand the performance of mobile devices, we’re rapidly evolving Level Platforms’ MDM capabilities within the Managed Workplace platform to introduce new levels of configuration, management and monitoring for MSPs serving the small and medium business market.
New MDM features with Managed Workplace R2 feature pack 1 include:Roaming Detection alerts the MSP when a device changes mobile networks to help control operating costs for their end-clients;
New configuration policies for iOS device security and functionality to help clients reduce costs and administrate corporate usage guidelines, including regulating the ability for end-users to download, access or delete applications, store documents in the cloud, share photos and more;
Restricting the use of application, such as cameras in high-security environments, for iPhone and Android devices.
