Microprocessor vendor Intel Corp. has new leadership in Canada with the announcement Monday that Graham Palmer has been appointed as Intel’s new Canada country manager.
A 25-year veteran of Intel, Palmer comes to the Canadian leadership role from Europe, where his last role was serving as Intel’s country manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland (UK&I).
“We’re excited to welcome Graham to the Canada country manager post. His industry acumen, leadership skills, and proven track record uniquely position him for this critical assignment,” said CJ Bruno, vice-president and general manager of Intel Americas, in a statement. “His diverse industry expertise, results-oriented approach, and keen insights from his success as our UK&I country manager will serve us, our customers and industry partners well as he defines the strategy for Intel in the Canadian market.”
In his new role, Palmer will be accountable for revenue, spending, strategic initiatives, brand, marketing and sales development for Intel across Canada. He has held a range of sales, marketing and communications roles during his 25 years with Intel, including leading CPU and graphics marketing for EMEA and the retail sales team in UK&I.
“I’m thrilled to be here in Canada and eager to lead this holistic new mandate for Canada that will see all sales and marketing disciplines managed from one central point,” says Palmer. “My first priority is working closely with Intel Canada employees, partners and customers to assess opportunities and develop the roadmap for Intel in Canada moving forward.”
Intel Canada’s long-time Canada country manager Doug Cooper resigned in 2011, after joining the vendor in 1983, for a part-time career in venture capital. He was replaced by another Intel veteran, Elaine Mah.
According to Intel, Mah will remain in her role as director of marketing, while Palmer will assume a new, more powerful country manager role that, for the first time, includes responsibility for both sales and marketing in Canada. It’s part of a larger organizational change for Intel Canada that Palmer will be leading.
