Pinnacle Studio enables ‘true video editing’ on iPhone

That hasn’t stopped video editing software maker Pinnacle Systems from developing a video editing app for the iPhone for “anyone looking for true, creative movie-making” with the Apple handset.

If you’re a mobile phone movie maker you’re probably using an app that requires you to transfer your movies to  a computer for further editing. California-based Pinnacle, which was acquired in 2012 by Ottawa-based software company Corel Corp, is offering editing-on-the fly capability. Pinnacle Studio for iPhone provides users with a full timeline to edit video, audio and photos on the go. The app also comes with a suite of effects such as transitions, speed and montage and allows users to create custom tiles and soundtracks – all on their iPhone.

“Unlike other movie editing apps, Pinnacle Studio doesn’t make you sacrifice features and control just because you’re editing on your iPhone,” said Michel Yavercovski, director of product development for Pinnacle. “For the first time, you can enjoy sophisticated anywhere, anytime movie-making capabilities, right in your pocket.”
