This BenQ professional photography monitor displays near-perfect colour

Taiwanese consumer electronics company BenQ Corp has released a professional photography monitor that aims to combine colour accuracy, hardware calibration and consistent fidelity.

The SW2401PT, which the company calls the world’s “first professional photography monitor” is designed specifically for photographers, the company said, and features a 24-inch QHD 2560×1440 display with IPS technology.  It also boasts 99 per cent Adobe RGB colour gama to more accurately reproduce shades of blue and green, hardware calibration which allows for fine tuning of the dedicated image processing chip, and dedicated software to calibrate and optimize colour.

The BenQ SW2401PT also offers “seamless compatibility with today’s DSLR cameras,” the company has said.

According to Bob Wudeck, associate vice president if strategy and business development at BenQ America, the device is “loaded with advanced features to support the color editing process, our latest RevolutionEyes monitor displays a larger spectrum of color reproduction while hardware calibration allows users to adjust the monitor’s image-processing chip without changing the graphics card output data.”

The SW2401PT even comes with a comes equipped with a black-and-white mode which allows users to edit the photograph without losing original details or tones and even a “ZeroFlicker” function which reduces eye fatigue at different brightness levels.  

It is currently priced at $499.
