Top 5 vendors to watch 2010: Asigra

This Canadian data protection, backup and recovery software solutions vendor demonstrated its channel commitment last year with the introduction of its first-ever partner program for its business partners across the globe.

Asigra Inc. is a Toronto-based company which offers its solutions 100 per cent through the channel, which is currently made up of 550 global partners and growing. In Canada, there are 28 channel partners, said the company’s executive vice-president, Eran Farajun.

Prior to launching its Hybrid Partner Program, Farajun said Asigra didn’t have a partner program in place. Since the company’s go-to-market strategy is completely dependent on its channel, it made sense for the company to create a formalized channel program, he explained.

“We’re looking to broaden our channel reach in Canada and we think having a formalized program will help us do that,” Farajun said. “The Hybrid Partner Program is a North American program and we want it to reflect the way our customers access our technology as a service through the partner. ”

In Canada, Farajun said he hopes to have anywhere between 75 and 100 partners in total. Worldwide, he says the company wants to grow to no more than 3,000 partners.Asigra’s primary target markets include manufacturing, legal, professional services, financial and healthcare, Farajun said.

The company’s flagship Hybrid Cloud Backup and Recovery software solution is an agent-less, scalable backup and recovery platform that lets end-users move data into and out of the cloud.

Partners earn anywhere between 32 to 49 per cent margins on Asigra’s software solutions, Farajun said.

The company also has its Influencer Incentive offering available to its channel, which provides partners with a 15 per cent commission on a registered deal even if they happen to lose the sale to another Asigra partner, Farajun said.
