Visual solution provider ViewSonic Corp. has announced its newest monitor, and it’s a doozy.
The latest addition to the company’s VP series line, the VP2785-4K is a 27-inch 4K UHD (3840 by 2160) monitor that, according to ViewSonic, is designed to deliver 99 per cent of Adobe RBG colours accurately and 98 per cent of DCI-P3 colours, ensuring precise and consistent colour representation and, more importantly, incredible image quality.
“Built to deliver unmatched colour accuracy for professional colour-critical applications, the ViewSonic VP2785-4K ensures vibrant and intense colour reproduction, making this monitor the perfect display solution for photographers, video and content producers and editors,” the company says in an Aug. 16 release.
In addition to its UHD resolution, colour range, and what ViewSonic calls its best-in-class colour accuracy, the VP2785-4K has been factory calibrated to achieve a Delta E measurement of less than two across multiple colour spaces, indicating that viewers will be able to distinguish between a wider range of colours at close range.
According to ViewSonic, the VP2785-4K also includes a built-in uniformity function that guarantees screen consistency: its built-in backlight sensor can stabilize colour within three minutes, maintaining Adobe RGB and sRGB brightness stability for longer periods of time than competitors. (Most monitors take more than 30 minutes to stabilize their brightness, chromaticity, and tone characteristics, the company says.)
The VP2785-4K includes a range of ports as well, including USB 3.1 Type C, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, and Mini DisplayPort 2.1, allowing it to be connected with a variety of external devices, while an HDCP 2.2 input provides content protection for 4K playback, streaming, and gaming.
Skilled creative professionals will also likely appreciate the device’s built-in ambient light sensor, presence sensor, and KVM switch, which provide superior screen performance.
The ViewSonic VP2785-4K will be available in Canada this August for an suggested retail price of $1399.
