“There’s no doubt that the notebook will be continuously compared to the MacBook Air based on the size, footprint and weight … [but] The X300 will include an integrated optical drive, removable battery, three USB ports, RJ-45 jack for wired Ethernet, and options for integrated wireless broadband and a GPS radio…the X300 sounds as though it could be a little more flexible for road warriors and true mobile users.”

“Overall spending on R&D at Apple has jumped 34 per cent year-over-year, which suggests the company may be devoting more time and effort to developing entirely new products and eking out additional iPhone deals, according to Morgan Stanley.”
Phishers clean up at online casinos

John Leyden looks at Symantec’s finding of online gambling sites, often the source of the latest phishing attacks.
“Access to gambling accounts also makes it easier to launder money. “Phishers can set up online gambling accounts sites using stolen credit card numbers and victims’ identities. They can then launder dirty money by exchanging funds through the pots of games they set up amongst themselves,” Symantec reports.”
