Asus’ affordable tablet

Asus announced the launch of the MeMO Pad HD 7.

The MeMO Pad HD 7 is a 7-inch Android tablet with a responsive quad-core processor, vivid 1280 x 800 multi-touch IPS display, and 1.2-mega-pixel front-facing and 5-mega-pixel rear-facing HD cameras for taking photos and recording video.

The company is positioning the MeMO Pad HD 7 as an affordable model in their product line up. And, at $149 the company has definitely priced the product in the for those looking for an affordable or entry-level option. So for $149, t his is what you get from Asus; a 0.425-inch thin device that weighs just 10.65 oz., which makes easy for traveling. The MeMO Pad HD 7 reaches close to 10-hours of battery life, and comes in four colours (blue, pink, white and black).

The 7-inch multi-touch HD display features  a 1280 x 800 resolution. It also has a 170-degree wide viewing angle for photos.

Courtesy of Asus SonicMaster technology, the MeMO Pad has dual speakers.  The unit ships with 16GB of storage and a MicroSD card slot for adding up to 32GB more.  Asus WebStorage provides 16GB of cloud based storage free for one year.

The MeMO Pad HD 7 also features 802.11N wireless speeds along with Miracast wireless technology that enables displaying of digital content between supported devices without cables or a network connection.  

The company also provides optional protective TransCover with microfiber interior. Asus TransCover features a folding design to prop the tablet at an angle for watching video or typing with the on-screen keyboard.  TransCover is available in blue, pink, white and black for the MeMO Pad HD 7.

The Persona Cover for the MeMO Pad HD 7 is also available.  Available in black, pink and green, this is a custom-fit case that protects the tablet from everyday bumps and scrapes.
