CDW Canada Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Corp., today announced the winners of its first annual Teaching With Technology Story Contest and Sweepstakes.
The contest, sponsored by CDW Canada, was open to K-12 educators and administrators across the country, with the opportunity to win computer hardware and software prizes for their classrooms.
The grand prize winner of the contest were teachers from Crescent Park Elementary in Surrey, B.C., followed by runner-up winner, Northern Lights Elementary in Aurora, Ont. The sweepstakes winners were teachers from Crystal View Elementary in Victoria B.C., West Hill Public School in Toronto, Ont., Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary, Alta, Carson Grove Elementary in Ottawa and Shannon Lake Elementary in Kelowna, B.C.
The contest asked each participant to describe an experience where technology enhanced the learning experience in the classroom, or how it could be used to teach more effectively.
Mary Ann Yule, general manager of CDW Canada, said she was “overwhelmed” with the number of positive responses to the company’s contest.
“Reading through the stories was fascinating because it reinforced thefact that teachers are using technology in imaginative ways to fostercreativity and collaboration within their classrooms,” Yule said.
The sweepstakes winners of the contest were awarded prizes that are valued at over $3,000 retail and included things such as printers and PCs.
