Cisco pushes “Security Everywhere” strategy with new portfolio

Cisco wants its security solutions on every part of the enterprise infrastructure.

At its 2015 Live conference, the network giant has announced new offerings for what seems like every portion of a company’s architecture, including in endpoints, campus and branch offices in the cloud and more.

In a blog post seemingly meant for partners, Al Jacobellis, director of global partner strategy and security solutions at Cisco talked the company’s new portfolio and strategy, aptly named “Security Everywhere.”

“Cisco has embedded multiple security technologies into the network infrastructure to provide broad threat visibility to rapidly identify users and devices,” he said.

Features he highlighted include further integration between Cisco’s Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Lancope StealthWatch for contextual threat vectors identification, NetFlow on the UCS for greater visibility to network traffic, and combining TrustSec, ISE and StealthWatch to block suspicious network devices through segmentation changes.

For partners, Jacobellis suggests that partners have the opportunity to differentiate themselves by offering security to cover the entire IT infrastructure and by offering security-related consulting services.  He added that Cisco has the training and lead generation tools to back up the partner.
