Comcast Business expands its managed broadband services to Canada

Comcast Business is bringing its managed broadband services for U.S.-based enterprises to Canada after signing an agreement with Canadian telecom company iTels Networks Inc.

The agreement will see Comcast Business – a subsidiary of Comcast – leveraging iTel’s vendor relationships; allowing Comcast Business to provide its U.S.-based Enterprise Solutions customers with Managed Broadband in Canada.

“Our Enterprise Solutions team has uncovered a wealth of opportunities for Comcast Business to deliver services outside the U.S. Many of our existing enterprise customers and prospects have locations outside the United States; in particular, in Canada,” said, Glenn Katz, senior vice-president and general manager of Comcast Business Enterprise Solutions in a press release.

The Managed Broadband service gives enterprises the option to have a single service provider that is responsible for overseeing all order management, installation, account management, and billing for all on-net and off-net locations.

“As a converged network company, we harness the power of every Canadian carrier and every technology to create an affordable network solution in even the most remote locations across Canada and the U.S.,” said Dan Rink, CEO at iTel Networks Inc. “Our agreement with Comcast Business brings this power to bear for their U.S.-based enterprise customers looking to extend managed broadband support to their Canadian locations.”
