Alaska Miller reveals results from a study regarding the theft of corporate data by its own employees.

“A study says 88 percent of sysadmins and support desk jockeys surveyed would pilfer company secrets and data if they were ever fired. The security firm that conducted the survey suggests routinely updating account logins and passwords, especially after you fire someone on a Friday afternoon.”

Dell promotes MessageOne as managed service

Joe Panettieri writes how Dell has already started advertising its managed service offering for corporate e-mail, MessageOne, and looks at where partners fit in.

“It’s unclear how, when or if managed service providers (MSPs) will be able to join Dell’s MessageOne party. Dell acquired MessageOne in February 2008. Report: AMD to challenge Nvidia’s $60 graphics
ZD Net
John Morris says that AMD is reportedly set to release new versions of its entry-level graphics cards in response to Nvidia’s recently announced 9400 GT.

“Several sites have reported that AMD will release two new GPUs on September 10: the Radeon HD 4650 and Radeon HD 4670 with 512MB and 1GB GDDR3 memory, respectively. Tom’s Hardware reported that these GPUs will compete directly with Nvidia 9500 GT, which is available in cards costing $70 to $100. AMD either thinks that it will offer better performance to justify a slightly higher price, or it will push the Radeon HD 4650–or a similar GPU–down to about $60 to match the 9400 GT.”
