Former Ingram Canada boss is now Tech Data Americas president

Murray Wright has made his way back up to the top of a significant distributor business.

Wright, who led Ingram Micro Canada and Lenovo Canada, as its president respectively, will has been named Americas president for Tech Data Corp. (Nasdaq:TECD).

After a successful stint leading U.S. sales for the distributor, Wright will be responsible for company’s sales, marketing, logistics and purchasing operations throughout Canada, the U.S., and Latin America.

Tech Data CEO Bob Dutkowsky said Wright brings a wealth of industry and operational experience to his new role. “He has been at the forefront of many strategic initiatives at Tech Data and has the proven leadership to position a world-class enterprise like ours to capitalize on new opportunities,” Dutkowsky said in a prepared statement.

Ken Lamneck left Tech Data earlier this year to become president of Insight, a direct market reseller based in Tempe, Ariz.

The Clarkson graduate, as head of U.S. sales, was in charge of the TechSelect partner community, inside sales, the distributor’s nationwide field sales team, and oversaw Tech Data’s government sales team.

Besides, Ingram and Lenovo, Wright was GM of Sharp Electronics of Canada, and worked many positions at Xerox Canada.
