HiveIO brings more intelligence to the data centre with latest update

HiveIO, an up-and-coming software company from New Jersey that’s been transforming legacy data centre equipment into software-defined virtualization solutions, announced the release of its latest solution, Hive Fabric 7.0.

The company says Hive Fabric 7.0 offers all the components of a hyperconverged solution, satisfying the performance, scale and security that enterprise customers want, and combines it with AI, while removing more confusing elements such as licensing and multi-vendor integration and management.

A spokesperson for HiveIO told CDN that two Canadian partners, Softchoice and StoragFlex, are selling the latest solution. Dan Newton, CEO of HiveIO, said the Hive Fabric 7.0 is meant for organizations of any size.

“Data is a valuable commodity in any business today; however, it’s time-consuming and difficult to obtain while also expensive to gain insights into your business,” Newton said in a statement. “With Hive Fabric, users can consolidate disparate meta-data into a single stream enabling your IT team to gain valuable insight into their business that leads to innovation and increases ROI.”

Like all Hive Fabric solutions, version 7.0 can run on any x86 hardware, offering integration into an existing environment and is available now. New features include:

Kevin McNamara, co-founder and CTO of HiveIO, said the Hive Fabric 7.0 is another push further into the storage market that allows them to sell faster and cheaper processing in the software layer with software-defined storage.

“Hive Fabric is poised to break through the current boundaries of traditional data centres and enter the world of artificial intelligence and machine learning through its unique Message Bus architecture,” said Kevin McNamara, co-founder and CTO of HiveIO.

The Message Bus is an AI-powered component of the solution that provides detailed insights into the data centre, removing the need for separate management infrastructure, according to HiveIO.
