HP Canada’s PPS team members announced

As promised by Lloyd Bryant, the new vice president and GM of HP Canada’s Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) group, he did not take long to fill out his roster.

Former PSG Canada chief Leyland Brown will play a prominant role in this new business unit as the lead in the Enterprise Sales team for PPS Canada. Brown, who was named the CDN Top Newsmaker for 2011, was waiting for an assignment at HP Canada after company CEO Meg Whitman merged the Personal Systems Group with the Imaging and Printing Group.

The biggest news for the channel is the promotion of Gary Drysdale, the long time Compaq Canada executive, has been named the new leader for PPS commercial channel sales in Canada and with that is the defacto channel chief for PPS. Drysdale has long coveted the channel chief job and will now be responsible for SMB sales along with commercial channel sales through solution providers and distributions partners.

As for John Cammalleri he moves from PPS to the HP Canada Enterprise Group. According to a source, Cammalleri’s new role will involve handling distributors and national VARs.

Another source at HP said more executive announcements are coming that could see PPS staffers move to the Enterprise Group and vice-versa.

Another high profile executive at HP Canada Anita Grassl was named the lead in PPS’s consumer sales team.

“These sales leaders will drive the strategy and direction to ensure we are meeting our Canadian business objectives, and will be working diligently over the next few weeks to build their respective teams. I’m excited to have such a strong team in place and look forward to working collectively to accelerate our business overall,” said Bryant in a letter to channel partners.

Bryant went on to say that this simplified organizational structure allow the PPS group to leverage its strength across two complementary businesses and enable the team to advance innovation and deliver better results for channel partners and customers.

“Our new channel leadership structure will allow us to focus in key areas required to properly support our channel, making it easier for you to work with HP,” he added.
