Huawei signs partner to sell networking gear in Canada

Some two years after they first became available in the U.S., Chinese networking equipment vendor Huawei Technologies is now selling its enterprise equipment lineup – including switches, routers, and unified communications gear – to Canadian enterprise customers.

While Huawei has sold its telecom switching gear to Canadian telcos for several years and has a telecom research lab in Ottawa, this is the first time Huawei is selling its enterprise lineup in Canada, putting it into competition with networking vendors such as Cisco Systems Inc., Juniper Networks and Hewlett-Packard Co.

Huawei has signed Peterborough, Ont.-based Capella Telecommunications as a Canadian distributor, and is also reportedly working with Synnex and CTDI.
