“1Q09 revenue for Juniper Networks is now expected to be in the range of $760 million to $765 million, representing a sequential decline of up to -18 per cent, below the company’s guidance range of $800 million to $830 million. Juniper is pointing to weak service provider sales for the miss.”

James Sherwood writes that according to the “Economic Daily News,” a Chinese-language newspaper, Asus may continue to sell some 8.9-inch netbooks.

“According to the Economic Daily News, by way of DigiTimes, (Asus has) decided to retain its 8.9-inch netbook line for the ‘procurement market.‘ Essentially, that means big-volume purchases, by corporations or educational establishments, for example.”

“‘(Windows Server Foundation is) initially available in 40 countries and will provide small business customers with the ability to run business applications and databases, host Web sites, and provide basic server functionality such as file and print sharing and remote access.’ It will be sold preinstalled on servers from companies as Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and IBM Corp.”
