Konica Minolta buys Pitney Bowes Canada’s document imaging business

Konica Minolta Canada is expanding its document imaging business to the commercial and corporate space with its acquisition of Pitney Bowes Canada’s document imaging solutions (DIS) business.

The move is also expected to swell Konica Minolta’s service network and direct sales operation in Canada by more than 300 personnel, according to Chris Dewart, president and chief executive officer of Konica Minolta Business Solutions.

“This addition of Pitney Bowes Canada’s document imaging solution business provides a tremendous opportunity for us to increase our market share within the Canadian marketplace,” he said in a statement. “It allows us to expand Konica Minolta’s existing document imaging business to commercial and corporate accounts, and in key locations throughout Canada where we are working to grow our business.”

The Canadian operation of Konica Minolta focuses on enterprise content management, technology optimization and cloud services.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Canada focuses on enterprise content management, technology optimization and cloud services, with solutions designed to help organizations improve their speed to market, manage technology costs, and facilitate the sharing of information to increase productivity.

Pitney Bowes provides shipping and mailing solutions, data management software and location intelligence solutions. The DIS business of the company’s Canadian arm generated approximately $82 million in revenue last year.
