Laptop bags with 40 point margins

When was the last time you made 40 margin points on a straight product resale?

It doesn’t happen often but Holiday Group Inc. of Mississauga, Ont. is releasing a new Tier 2 Retailer and Solution Provider channel program to promote its line of Swiss Gear by Wenger notebook carrying cases and backpacks. The program is through distribution and is intended to help tier two retailers and SMB solution providers compete against the big box retailers.

According to Zeno Ricci, director of the sales IT channel for Holiday, the new program comes with competitive suggested retail pricing and marketing development funds to drive exposure for the Swiss Gear brand made popular by the Swiss Army knife.

“VARs and tier two retailers across the board can get between 34 to 40 points on all the products,” Ricci said.

Swiss Gear has also created separate non-scratch tablet compartments for its cases and backpacks. And several of its line will have the ScanSmart notebook compartment where travelers don’t have to go through the hassle of taking out the laptop during airport security checks.

Ricci suggested retailers and solution providers should contact their distribution rep about Swiss Gear’s new channel program, which will include a lifetime warranty for replacement.

Ricci said this program tries to eliminate all the problems for resellers.

“The last thing they want is to get 40 points off a bag and they have to replace it. This warranty removes that issue,” he said.
