Lenovo Canada has pulled the covers off what it calls three ultraportable PCs, the ThinkPad X61 and X61s notebooks and the X61 Tablet PC.
The new computers offer more than 30 percent improvement in wireless performance over previous models, the company said.
The company credits an improved wireless design, Ultra Connect II, combined with a new integrated pop-up antenna on the X61 and X61s, improves broadband wireless throughput by more than 30 percent while increasing the range over previous models.
The X61s can get more than 12 hours with an eight-cell standard battery and optional extended life battery, while the X61 and X61 Tablet can run up to 11 and 10 hours, the company said.
By enabling Lenovo’s new Battery Stretch control, users can gain up to 15 percent longer battery life to finish a presentation or current work by simply selecting functions to temporarily disable in the Power Manager ThinkVantage software.
Powered by Intel Core2 Duo low voltage processors, the the new X61 models start at $2,299.
