BREAKING: QuickBooks for Mac deletes desktop folder (update 1)
ZD Net
Jason D. O’Grady offers users of Mac QuickBooks a warning.

“If you use QuickBooks 2006 or 2007 for the Mac–don’t launch it. An apparent bug in the software update code causes the accounting software to throw a vague “you don’t have enough memory” dialog after attempting to download a 100k update while it simultaneously deletes your desktop folder.”

Huge phone bills and unsuspecting customers; when will mobile operators communicate clearly?
Techdirt
Mike Masnick sounds off on the lack of communication offered by mobile phone operators.

They add unnecessary fees. It appears that there’s an inability or unwillingness for these firms to communicate clearly and honestly with their customers.”

Rock my teeth: iPod teeth whitening mouthpiece
Wired
Charlie Sorrel criticizes the latest iPod accessory which vibrates as it whitens your teeth.

“Rock My Teeth…when used in conjunction with the company’s peroxide impregnated strips, supposedly whitens your teeth…[it] connects to an MP3 player via mini-jack, and the inline slider balances sound levels between the headphones and the mouth-phone…We suspect that the music part does nothing, and that simply putting bleach on your teeth would be just as effective.”
