New Microsoft Store headed for Vancouver

Microsoft Canada President Janet Kennedy at Microsoft Store is planning on leaving the Canadian operation

Microsoft is opening a new store in Vancouver at the Pacific Centre mall.

This new location will officially open on Aug. 6th and will be the second B.C. location for Microsoft. The software powerhouse opened a story in Burnaby in November of 2013.

At the official opening Microsoft plans to award technology grants to community organizations in the area, as well as offer giveaways and grand opening product offers.

The Pacific Centre location will be Microsoft’s ninth in Canada. The store will have 3,443 square feet of retail space and employ approximately 30 people.

Microsoft plans to offer an assortment of OEM products, including Windows 8 PCs, Surface devices, Windows Phones, Xbox One, Office, and Microsoft Band. The staff will be trained to do product setups and provide tech support.

Microsoft has another specialty store located in the Southgate Centre in Edmonton. Microsoft also has plans to open up its first Microsoft Store outside of Canada and the U.S. down under in Sydney, Australia. The Sydney location does not have a confirmed opening date but it is expected to be late in 2015 or early 2016.

The Pacific Centre Microsoft Store will be No. 113 worldwide.
