New online resource helps Alberta students with Internet safety and cyber-bullying

Alberta students in grades four through eight will be able to use a new online resource tool, called Passport to the Internet, which helps with Internet safety and cyber-bullying.

The tool is made possible by a licensing agreement between the province of Alberta and the Media Awareness Network.

The online tool will be available in English and French, at no cost to the Alberta schools.

By utilizing Passport to the Internet, students can gain a better understanding of Internet safety. The tool also serves as a resource for information on protecting privacy, managing online relationships and dealing with cyber-bullying.

Alberta Education has obtained a license to use this resource in schools until Aug. 31, 2011.
