People – Ball joins Meta4hand

Edmonton, Alta. – Mobile computing solutions developer Meta4hand last month announced the addition of Derek Ball to its board of advisors. Prior to his current post, Ball headed up Sonic Mobility Inc., provider of wireless systems administration and mobile security software.

Ball has

been involved in over a hundred live installations of emerging technology for large corporations throughout his career. He is also the author of 40 articles and thirteen books on emering technology, including two best-sellers.

Trend Micro hires Canadian IT leader

Cupertino, Calif. – Trend Micro Inc., network antivirus and Internet content security software developer, recently appointed Pat Kewin, 41, to the position of director for Canada. Kewin brings 18 years of experience in the Canadian IT industry as well as channel expertise and relationships to the company.

In his new role, Kewin will be responsible for helping Trend Micro grow its market share in Canada and enhance customer and partner relationships.

New CFO at EDS Canada

Toronto – EDS Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Electronic Data Systems Corp., has announced the appointment of Brian W. Brewer as chief financial officer for the company’s Canadian operations.

Brewer served as CFO for Acklands-Grainger Inc. and in several positions with Imperial Oil and Xerox CFO in Canada and the U.S.

He holds an MBA from York University.

EDS provides information technology, applications and business process services and IT transformation services to customers worldwide. The firm has 7,600 employees here and reported Canadian revenues of $1.05 billion in 2003.
