“Having spent a number of years near the hacker subculture, I have to voice my opposition to their current reputation. The so called “hackers” I have met, are really the people keeping a watchful, protective eye on the government, private industry and the products we all use. If there was no one to point out security flaws, who would ever fix them? Who would even put effort into producing something secure in the first place? Who would protect your right to privacy? Protect your identity? Sure, criminals can exist in every trade but they don’t make the majority.”
Is Google helping Apple launch Me.com?

“Apple and Google are already quite cozy – but could they be getting even closer over Apple’s rumored Me.com Web services? A source close to Google says the company is about to make a big announcement with Apple, likely in conjunction with Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference next week. It could be nothing more than integration of a new iPhone’s GPS features with Google Maps. But our source thinks more is at stake.”
Mobile phone to be ‘fourth’ retail channel

Cisco Subnet writes on a Cisco study that found out why mobile devices are considered to be a “major growth opportunity” for the retail channel.
“The company’s third annual e-commerce study finds that mobile devices are joining physical stores, websites and catalogs as an important retail channel, due in large part to the social networking phenomena and advancements in mobile technologies. This prompts retailers to implement mobile strategies in order to capture new sources of revenue, Cisco asserts.”
