RIM’s BlackBerry Storm in the enterprise

November 20, 2008
BlackBerry Storm is a little too consumer for some
The Register
Bill Ray writes why many of RIM’s BlackBerry Storm enterprise customers are finding themselves disappointed with the device.

“Many customers are buying…(the Storm) on the basis that it will also integrate with their Enterprise Solution and are sadly disappointed. The Internet Solution integrates with POP3 email accounts as well as Web-based e-mail, but anyone wanting to use Domino, Groupwise, Exchange or similar must pay for an Enterprise Solution. The same applies to users wanting to use other enterprise applications based on the BlackBerry platform.”

Fire Yahoo’s board!
Valleywag
Owen Thomas writes why he thinks members of Yahoo’s board of directors should be let go.

“After a CEO’s ouster, the knives always end up in the wrong person’s back. Take how Jerry Yang is being ritually badmouthed now that he’s out of Yahoo’s top job. Now, Yahoo’s board of directors is being lionized for giving the nice guy the boot, and heroically engaging in a search for his replacement. But aren’t they guilty of the same sins? Whoever Yahoo picks as its next CEO should make a priority of mucking out the boardroom; candidates for the job should demand that these six directors offer their resignation before they sign on the bottom line. Otherwise, the job will be untenable.”
