Samsung CEO: No way the company will buy webOS

James Kendrick reports that despite the rumours, Samsung has no interest in webOS.

“Samsung has its own Bada OS that it is using in some products, but its bread and butter has been Android. The company has shot up the market share charts as a result of the Galaxy line of products that run Android. It has been so successful that it caught the attention of Apple who is suing Samsung all over Europe.”

Apple’s iCloud runs on Microsoft and Amazon services

Gavin Clarke reports that the service will be hosted on Azure and AWS.

“We understand that Apple has barred Microsoft and Amazon from discussing what would otherwise be a high-profile deal, especially for Microsoft’s fledgling Azure cloud service.But Reg sources close to Microsoft this week confirmed rumours circulating in June that Apple’s iCloud is running on Azure and Amazon. Customers’ data is being striped between the pair. iCloud was released as a beta in August and is expected by the end of this year.”

looks at the browser three years on.

“Chrome’s distinctive minimalist design has also changed the way that browser vendors think about usability. Chrome’s approach to paring down the interface and offering a more streamlined user experience has been embraced by other browsers. Google took the lead on some controversial moves, like not displaying “http” in the location bar.”
