SAP Canada ramping-up SME channel centricity

Orlando – This year’s Sapphire user conference saw business software vendor SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) reaffirm its commitment to partnering, developing an ecosystem and going to market through the channel.

SAP’s recent acquisition of Sybase Inc. opens the possibility of a new channel play pushing-out SAP functionality to mobile devices, and the announcement of a hardware-software partnership with Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) and Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) around SAP’s new in-memory analytic engine offers the possibility of new ways for the channel to configure, package and sell SAP software. SAP’s on-demand Business ByDesign offering, after several delays, is also slated for an early 2011 launch in Canada.

In the SME-dominant Canadian market, SAP and its partners are looking to capitalize on these developments, pent-up demand and the recovering economy to drive further channel centricity in SAP’s Canadian business.

In this CDN video. SAP Canada’s vice-president of SME, Conrad Mandala, discusses SAP’s Canadian channel growth, while Nir Orbach of Illumiti Inc. and Michael Pearson of Contax Inc. provide a partner perspective.
