“The biggest reason is that a blog can be your ‘portfolio’ for future job interviews. In good times and bad, almost every IT worker should be getting set up for her next job search. And a blog can be a huge help in that. A blog lets you: Show specific technical expertise, show specific business expertise, show general technical problem-solving ability, show general people-problem-solving ability, (and) show that you can communicate.”

Next-Gen iPod Touch to Gain “N” Wireless Radio

“The next iterations of the iPhone and iPod Touch are likely to have 802.11n wireless radios inside, offering lower power consumption, longer range and faster data rates. More importantly, it will mean that you can hook your handheld up to your n-enabled home network and not slow everything else down. if the Touch gets 802.11n, the iPhone will almost certainly get it too.”

Samsung’s new SyncMaster 70 displays consume 33% less energy, 0% less pizzazz

“Samsung has trotted out a pair of new SyncMaster 70 series monitors, on the green tip. Coming in at your choice of either 20- or 23-inches, the displays sport a 50000:1 contrast ratio, 2ms response time, and consume 33 per cent less energy than previous Sammy outings. No word yet on screen resolution, release date, or price.”
