Stream TV Networks on Monday announced seven Elocity tablets with 10-inch screens that will run Google’s upcoming Android 3.0 OS.
The company will show the new tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show, which will be held in Las Vegas between Jan. 6 and 9, where further information about the tablets will also be revealed.
A Stream TV spokeswoman did not immediately respond to comments about pricing or shipment dates. The tablet will be available for preorder on Jan. 17th through retailers like Wal-Mart, Amazon, Fry’s and Sears, the company said in a statement.
Stream TV is expected to be one of many companies showing off tablets based on Google’s Honeycomb OS. Many tablets available today, including Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, are based on Google’s Android 2.2 OS.
The tablets will run on Nvidia’s Tegra 2 T250 processor, which includes two processing cores and is based on an Arm design. The tablets will be able to play 1080p high-definition movies, and are Flash-enabled for users to play Internet video.
The Elocity tablets include microSD slots, USB ports and an HDMI port to connect the tablet to external displays.
Stream TV already offers the eLocity A7, a tablet with a seven-inch screen, which started shipping in December. The tablet is also based on Nvidia’s Tegra processor.
