Tenable brings introduces a new integrated security solution

Global cybersecurity firm Tenable this week announced it’s combining its Tenable.sc platform and the Tenable Industrial Security OT solution to deliver a brand new solution it claims is currently absent in the industry.

Tenable.sc, previously called Tenable SecurityCenter, is the company’s on-premises security platform that complements its cloud counterpart, the Tenable.io cloud platform, and each contain Tenable’s well-known Nessus vulnerability scanners. The operational technology solution that’s now been integrated with Tenable.sc is Tenable Industrial Security, which was first brought out as a separate solution late last year, then integrated into the larger platform months later.

The new integrated solution The integrated solution allows businesses to get a unified view of cyber risk spanning IT networks and operational technology (OT), from enterprise applications to industrial control systems, using a single platform to measure and manage cyber risk.

The integrated solution allows businesses to get a unified view of cyber risk spanning IT networks and operational technology (OT), from enterprise applications to industrial control systems, using a single platform to measure and manage cyber risk.

It also takes security information collected by Tenable.sc’s Nessus scanners located in OT and IT networks, and combines it with passively collected asset and vulnerability data from Industrial Security. Renaud Deraison, co-founder and chief technology officer for Tenable, said most organizations today are defending their organizations “blindfolded,” and greater visibility into their systems is sorely needed.

“Without a single, unified view into converged IT/OT environments, CISOs are basically being asked to defend their organizations blindfolded and with one arm tied behind their backs. It’s bad cyber strategy and it places the business at serious risk,” he said.

Tenable sells in Canada through channel partners such as CDW Canada, Optiv Canada and Herjavec Group, among several others.
