There are deals to be had with SMB partners, this is a great time to buy if you can
Network World
Larry Chaffin writes why it may be a good thing to do purchasing from SMB partners in today’s economy.

“Vendors are giving great pricing and the same pricing that large partners get are being given to the SMB partners. This is due to the fact that they are bringing in business. Another great point for customer to think about, SMB partner charge less for services than large partners and will give you more for less. This is a great time for customers to buy, deals are out there to be had and they should look at SMB partners for pricing.”

Microsoft: Windows 7 ready for Christmas 2009
The Register
Gavin Clarke reveals news on Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system, which is reported for release by next Christmas.

“Microsoft has reportedly told PC and systems engineering partners Windows 7, the successor to Windows Vista, will be on PCs in time for the next holiday season. That contradicts Microsoft’s official party line that Windows 7 would not ship until 2010, three years after Windows Vista received its official launch.”

LG LX600 Lotus
Wired
Rachel Cericola provides details on a new phone from LG that targets women-buyers.

“The Lotus is compact at 3.3 x 2.4 x 0.7 inches and looks like, well, a makeup compact. True, this design increases the phone’s cute factor by a power of ten but it also lowers its useful index by a power of twenty. Because it’s so small, the QWERTY keys are crammed together making it difficult to dial, text or even navigate around menus – even if you’re blessed with dainty digits. You can pick up the Lotus in either jet-black or purple (overlaid with a floral print) colour schemes.”
