Var Bits – BEQ inks deal with Protek

EDMONTON – Bay Equities announced its wholly-owned subsidiary, BEQ Technologies Inc, has signed a strategic marketing agreement with Protek Computers Inc. of Calgary.

Under the deal Protek will be involved in the marketing of RealDesk, a 3D Internet browser and will share in the profit

on marketing revenues.

Version 2.0 of RealDesk, which includes a new proprietary file format, new navigation tools, a new collision and gravity engine and a pluggable graphical user interface, was also announced.

Kasten Chase signs Storageflex

Toronto – Kasten Chase, a provider of enterprise-class solutions for secure information management, has signed a channel agreement with Storageflex Inc.,of Markham, Ont., which makes high-performance storage products. The agreement will see Kasten Chase’s Assurency SecureData 1.5 platform integrated into Storageflex solutions.

Michael Milligan, Kasten Chase’s president and CEO, said the deal accelerates access to the federal government for its solutions. The company will also offer its business services programs to Storageflex customers.

St. Bernard finds Interwork Technologies

SAN DIEGO – St. Bernard Software Inc., a provider of security solutions, announced an exclusive channel agreement with Interwork Technologies Inc., a Canadian value-added distributor of security and connectivity.

The agreement brings St. Bernard’s UpdateEXPERT, iPrism and Open File Manager solutions to the Canadian market. The products will provide resellers with increased opportunites to provide security and data solutions, said Interwork vice-president Andy Bennis.
