ViewSonic introduces new energy-saving green LCDs

ViewSonic introduced two new additions to its VA Series of LCD’s — the widescreen – 19-inch, VA1928wm and 19-inch, VA1918wm. The displays are targeted at the government office and classroom users.

With a 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, the monitors deliver exceptional front-of-screen performance for office and education applications like spreadsheet manipulation, project presentations and Internet research. The 16:10 aspect ratio allows users dual-page viewing and simple, quick application navigation while the fast 5ms ClearMotiv video response provides a blur-free fast action video.

The monitors also come with ECO mode, which is based on the “Green LCD” concept. The backlight module can be adjusted to Standard (100 per cent), Optimize (75 per cent) and Conserve (60 per cent) lighting power to extend the LCD monitor life and deliver TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), through reduced power consumption. In addition, ECO mode also provides visual ergonomic benefits for prolonged display usage during the use of general computer applications (Conserve~Optimize), on-line applications (Optimize) and movies/games (Standard).

Both displays are Windows Vista Basic Certified, and include a thin-bezel design, built-in speakers, a VESA mount for easy wall mounting setup, integrated power supply and a clean cable management system.

In an effort to provide a minimal carbon footprint, the VA1928wm and VA1918wm meet the most stringent worldwide standards for energy savings and green initiatives, including EnergyStar, RoHS, TCO’03 and EPEAT Silver certification. ViewSonic LCD monitors are backed by a three-year limited warranty on parts and labor.

VA1918wm monitor is available at the price of US$244 and VA1928wm for US$250.
