VM6 Software launches MSP partner program

VM6 Software, a company that aims to bring high-availability virtualization solutions to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), has launched a global managed service provider (MSP) program to help its MSP partners through the sales cycle.

Last summer, the channel-only company introduced a global channel partner program in an effort to increase its overall market and partner reach. Jean-David Begin, vice-president of marketing and business development at Montreal-based VM6 Software, said the company has been focusing on its MSP community for the past couple of months. However, until now, there was no formal program in place.

Since rolling out its MSP program this month, Begin said more than 50 MSPs have joined the program. As part of the program, MSPs can take advantage of increased margins, deal registration, customer support, and sales and marketing support.

Chris Day, CEO of Vancouver-based Fully Managed, an MSP partner of VM6 Software, explained the benefits of VM6 Software’s VMex flagship product.

“SMBs have traditionally found it difficult and cost-prohibitive to adopt virtualization solutions,” Day said. “With VM6 VMex, we’re able to provide a complete solution at a much lower price point than what we’ve been able to offer before, and we can manage client systems from a single point of control. This ultimately gives us the ability to continue to provide services for our clients, while also benefiting from great technology. VMex, along with the marketing programs, brings tremendous value to our customers and helps us achieve our revenue targets.”

Begin said VM6 Software’s VMex software solution is based on Microsoft’s Hyper-V server virtualization technology that has the ability to bring high availability virtualization to SMBs. The solution integrates virtual servers, shared storage and clustering into a single software package, which ultimately ends up reducing the costs and complexities that are usually associated with high-availability virtualized environments.

MSP partners will receive “north of 25 points of margins” on VM6 Software’s solutions, Begin said.

“We’re looking for more partners who are focused on virtualization and have an expertise or who want to initiate a virtualization practice that’s focused on (Microsoft) Hyper-V,” Begin said.
