Where you’ll fall in the new Dell EMC channel partner program

Dell EMC channel partners have been hearing for months about the new partner program launching in February, and now they’ll learn what tier they’ll fall into.

This week, Dell EMC global channel chief John Bryne will be providing partners with an update regarding the Dell EMC Channel Program detailing the partner program tiers and status match. This will be the first official Dell EMC combined partner program email to the full partner ecosystem.

For example, if a partner had preferred status in the old Dell Partner Direct program, or silver status in the EMC Business Partner program, that partner would now have gold status in the new Dell EMC Partner program. Check out the chart below to see exactly where you’ll fall.

Dell EMC is aware that there are partners who were a part of both of the old programs, and those partners didn’t always fall in the same level tier for both programs. For those partners, Cheryl Cook, Dell EMC vice president of global channels and alliances, told CDN that “we’re going to make a pro-partner decision and map them into the higher level tier.”

Granted, those partners will be expected to meet the criteria of that higher level tier to stay there. If a partner is not in good standing with that higher tier, they will then be mapped into whatever tier they would fall under.

Partners hoping to obtain Titanium Black status will be made aware this week if they meet that criteria. Titanium Black is an invite-only tier for partners who have already obtained titanium status, and even then it will be highly selective. According to Cook, invitations for Titanium Black will be going out this week.

If partners are hoping to learn the benefits of each tier, they’ll have to wait a few more weeks. Dell EMC will be communicating the criteria and details of each tier, and the partner program as a whole, sometime in January in the leading weeks to February and the launch of the Dell EMC Channel Program.
