CDN is proud to honour Erin Sherry, the CEO and Principle of one of Canada’s largest independent voice and data integrators, Unity Telecom of Newmarket, Ont. Watch the video.

Sherry, a Business graduate, of Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, launched her career in the Finance Department at IBM.  In 1989 she was part of the team with her late husband Dave, that launched the telecom startup Accord Communications, where Sherry assumed the position of CFO.  Accord experienced tremendous growth over the following decade with Sherry as the key stakeholder managing all financial aspects of this successful startup.  As the business approached annual revenues of 30 million dollars, it was sold to Cygnal Technologies.  While at Cygnal, Sherry joined the management team responsible for the integration of multiple acquisitions. The key component of that integration was the deployment of an ERP system across all divisions of the corporation.

In 2005, Sherry became part of a new venture, Unity Telecom where she again assumed the role of CFO. Unity experienced  explosive growth hitting the $25M mark in under eight years.  Last year, with the passing of her husband, Sherry assumed the role as CEO, and has continued to work with the team to grow the business and establish new solutions for various market segments. Unity is a systems integrator reselling products from Avaya, Cisco, Shoretel, Panasonic, AVST, and many other key integral applications. Unity has grown to more than 125 employees with offices across Canada and in the U.S.
