Miles Davis, the former channel chief of Avaya Canada, was promoted in 2015 to run the Eastern region for Avaya after a stellar job running the channel business for the networking and collaboration vendor.

But it was the unique acquisition of Esna Technologies that places Davis on this list. While he did not give the final say on the deal, Davis said Esna will play a big role in 2016 as Avaya has tapped this company to help them build everyday business apps.

“Esna allows us to be even more innovative with customers. The focus is now to take this fantastic technology and start telling a story of innovation. In my current role I want to build out this process and deliver this message to partners and customers and articulate the value we bring to the table,” he said in a previous interview.

Davis also revamped channel incentives in 2015 as part of a change in direction on channel rebates. Avaya’s Grow Right program will no longer shut down to adjust for market conditions. It will now continuously be open and will see medal level distinction for channel partners who are able to align with Avaya on strategic products and platforms. Platinum level solution providers will see a 10 per cent increase on rebates from the original 20 per cent. Gold partners will remain at 20 per cent level, while Silver partners drop to 10 per cent from the original 20 per cent.
