IBM adds Commvault software to its managed services portfolio

IBM Corp. customers can now get their hands on a new managed service for the Commvault software portfolio.

Commvault announced today that the new partnership with IBM will allow its data management and protection software, including the Commvault Data Platform, to be delivered through IBM Business Resiliency Services and sold as a solution.

IBM’s recovery experts will benefit by having more solutions to approach customers with, said Owen Taraniuk, head of worldwide partnerships and market development at Commvault.

“This new partnership provides IBM Business Resiliency Services experts with the data management platform they need to solve the many IT resilience challenges their customers face as they move to new hybrid cloud environments,” Taraniuk said in a statement.

Daniel Witteveen agreed.

“The enterprise finds itself in an era where clients are seeking more simplicity and agility in their data backup and recovery solutions to help enable their digital transformation,” said the vice-president, global portfolio for IBM Business Resiliency Services.

Commvault’s solutions work across several applications, including: IBM DB2, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Active Directory and Oracle. The company also said the new partnership will lead to customers getting expert help relating to comprehensive ransomware, GDPR and other data protection and regulatory compliance strategies.
